PROBLEM

A major service provider for an Oilsands operator was preparing storage tanks for entry and inspection. The degassing and degreasing chemicals they had historically been using could not be diluted for application and could not be mixed for a single step process. This resulted in high chemical costs and extended times required to prepare the tank for entry, impacting the overall cost and scope of the turn-around.

Using TSER DGH and TSER FDG at the recommended dilutions, temperatures, flows and duration, the service provider was able to condense the entry preparation procedure into a single step process, reducing the time, equipment needed and ultimately the cost of the project.
